Access to safe and secure housing is one of the most basic human rights. Homelessness is a problem that goes beyond 'roof'lessness. The experience of homelessness includes a lack of security, stability, privacy, safety, and not having control over your living conditions.
Many factors can contribute to a woman becoming homeless, including family violence, lack of affordable housing, job loss and unemployment, lack of social support network, mental illness, and physical disability. Family violence is the leading cause of homelessness for women across Australia.

We will take your details and ask questions about your current circumstances. All information you provide is confidential. We may suggest other services you can call if we don’t' have any accommodation available.
If we can accommodate you, a team member will meet with you and will explain how much rent you need to pay, the support options available, and explain how things work at our Shelter.
Unfortunately, accommodation requests far exceed availability. We match women and children with the units we have available, taking into consideration your needs such as children, transport options, accessibility, and safety.
A Family Support Worker meet you and talk to you about how much rent you need to pay, the support options available, and how things work at the Shelter.
Trauma-Informed principles underpin all that we do. These include safety, trust, empowerment, choice, and collaboration. Our team collaboratively works with other services to help with your individual needs. Some examples include support with securing longer-term housing, legal support, referral to mental health services and family violence and financial counselling, and information about education and employment services.
Your safety is our priority. Our shelter is secure, with a duress system, security cameras, and a staff member onsite 24/7 for emergencies. Our team is available to support you during the day.
